Saint Bernadette Soubirous Relics
were here July 20, 2022 through July 22, 2022
We were honored to welcome the relics of St. Bernadette to our home, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mineral Wells, Texas. The Relics of St. Bernadette visited our church from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, France!
In 1858, the Virgin Mary appeared to young Bernadette in the French village of Lourdes. She called for repentance from sin and offered water for the healing of both body and soul. Today, millions of pilgrims travel to Lourdes each year to be reconciled with God and to pray for healing.
From April to August 2022, the relics of Saint Bernadette will tour the United States for the first time, bringing the grace of Lourdes to parishes across the country. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes is organizing the pilgrimage of the relics in partnership with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Hospitalité of Miami, the Order of Malta and North American Lourdes Volunteers. You can see their route here. We were in awe of being able to participate in this rare and special event. The relics were here from July 20-22, 2022 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Some parishioners were able to take a few photos that capture some of the beauty of this event. Photo credit goes to Diana Santibanez, Ricky Hunter, Sylvia Saucedo and Maria DeSantiago. Thank you for sharing.
